Coke County Veterans Memorial
Bronte, Texas

The Coke County Veterans Memorial located on the grounds of the Mason Lodge #962 in Bronte, Texas. The memorial is dedicated to all area veterans who served and those who lost their lives fighting in all armed conflicts for the United States of America.



The front of the memorial lists the names of veterans who served in the Spanish-American War, the Civil War (War Between the States), World War I (the Great War), and World War II. The center is reserved for the names of those who lost their lives in service.

The back side of the memorial lists the names of those who served in the Korean War, Vietnam War, Gulf War Era and Operation Iraqi Freedom. In the center of the memorial is the quote "Ask not what your country can do for you-- ask what you can do for your country" made by President John F. Kennedy. It also lists the names of those who lost their lives in service.

Elevated view of the Coke County Veterans Memorial. The Mason Lodge in the background is the former Bronte railway depot, built in 1911 and in operation until 1967. The building is currently a registered Texas Historic Landmark.
